What keep in the air a hang-glider, a kite or a bird? What allow us to breath and to live? Air.
We cannot see air and we cannot grab it, but it exists.
It is all that wrap and permeate us, it is the intangible space that all unite, it is the vital energy that Taoists call chi, hinduists call prana (from sanskrit force-light) and we call ether. It is the invisible matter that penetrate the whole universe and that we absorb from environment through respiration.
It represents the line of demarcation between the Earth and the Heavens, that is the point of contact between spirituality and matter and, therefore, it indicates the ability of sublimation of materialistic impulses.
Air is the creative triumph of natural life. Its perfusion over the Earth is prolific and improves fertility of nature.
Therefore the kind of expression consistent with air element concern all the faculties of intellect and mind: speech, art, abstract thought, imagination, music, singing, laughter, writing, poetry, inspiration. As a consequence communication, sociability, cultural exchange, mobility, change, play and joke, flexibility, shrug it off.

Fire represents a deep power which allows the union of the opposites and the ascent of the sublimation. It's the engine of the periodical regeneration of the Nature.
Soul life, power of creation, animal and instinctive vigour are the essential forms of the element Heat.
The Spirit, an internal fire of the humanity is at the same time piercing knowlwdge of the individual intellect, illumination or distraction of the wrapping. The earthy life of the creatures is like a dream and like the subtle star of existence and it derives from the vigour of the fire.
In all its vital manifestations fire expresses itself through luminescent appearance and pleases itself. The intellect in its evolutional form follows the spirit, like the Earth follows the Sun.
The fire as long as it burns and consumes it's the symbol of purification and regeneration. It represents purification through the aware understanding in its most spiritual form, through the light and the truth.
The element is represented by "I" of the being. Its heat forms the personality of individuals, their physical resemblance, mental states, dispositions and instinctive tendencies. It forms the individuality and it determines the evolution of the personality. It's the principle of all the situations, the beginning of everything, the reason and the cause.
The element Fire symbolizes fundamentally heat, dryness, quick movement, extreme lightness and rarefaction.

Since the beginning of the times mankind has considered the Water as the source of alla the life. The Water is the most privileged among the elements, because it's unpredictable and at the same time it possesses calm, gravity and the abyssal depth of the Earth, the orbital anxiety of the Air and the mobility of the Fire. Water, motionless enchantment of the lakes, untiring sky traveller, Earth perforator (through rains) and the sovereign of the abysses (of lakes and seas), it's the most fascinating bond and vehicle.
It's the incarnation of the liquid state of flexibility, release of the material, a creator that assimilates, interiorize, softens, mixes, inhibits, homogenize, fills, resolves.
It wins surrendering, changing form, adapting to circumstances, surrounding the obstacles that it meets, but inexorably from the source where it's born it reaches the sea, becoming first a torrent and then a river, in continous transformation, sometimes slow and almost imperceptible, other times fast and hasty. It's never the same to itself. Water is the expansion and the depth, it's receptive and purifying; it's therapeutic, a secret energy bearer and a healer.
All the profound emotions that flow to appear at the surface and disappear under the ground following their inner lows, elusive, unpredictable, indefinable, sometimes unknown, sometimes dominant, belong to Water.
Altruism, the ability of abandon, dependence, senses of guilt, attachment, compassion, sharing are the feelings that characterize Water.

The Earth is the element in three natural kingdoms: mineral, vegetable and animal, considered by most of the traditions as the most sacred and divine among the elements.
Fertile and creative, nourishing and luxuriant, it contains both, poetic characteristics of the maternal womb which receives the life nourishing it and also practical characteristics of the constancy, patience and strenght. By every ancient culture based on the respect for the Nature, a man has always been considered as one of the elements of this universe, as the son of the nature itself, a particle of the wider context. With the advent of the anthropocentric cultures, the Nature was plundered and wound in its sacredness: mankind became the dominator of all the things and animals, woods, trees, waters and the ground itself are paying serious consequences, with the effects reflected over the man itself.
The valley, considering its aspect calls to mind the earthy womb, heavenly forces shelter. Therefore it's the place of the fertility and transformation.
The growth of the grass expresses the activity of the vegetable forces of the Earth which are gathered and used for the healing and therapeutic purposes.
The hills and the mountains are the places which create the sense of the isolation that allows the moments of deep introspection.
The wood is the place where to withdraw for the regeneration and the consciousness waiting to enter the new cycle, the source of life and the area of protection.
The trees assumes in itself the concepts of wisdom, sacredness and power and it's also means of transport through the states of the being and the cosmic.
